The Canadian University of Dubai, a new and growing university located in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is pleased to announce its search for an Information Literacy/User Services Librarian.
Located on the Arabian Gulf with easy air access to most parts of the word, Dubai is one of the world’s most dynamic cities with a truly global culture.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Library Director and the faculty to implement a Library/Information Literacy program. Additionally they will run workshops for faculty to increase awareness and use of library resources.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* MLS degree from an ALA accredited institution;
* Knowledge of library policies and procedures;
* Knowledge of Integrated Library Systems, preferably Virtua;
* Strong knowledge of academic library information literacy instruction and assessment and evaluation of information literacy programs;
* Knowledge of online databases for research and training;
* Web development skills;
* Ability to work effectively as a team player and in a culturally diverse environment;
* Strong library user orientation, interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal skills
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
