The University of the East Library Science Alumni Association, Inc. (UELSAAI) is pleased to announce that we will be conducting a one-day seminar on March 7, 2008 entitled “Collection Management in the Digital Age” at the University of the East, Instructional Research Center, 2nd Floor Education Building, C.M. Recto Manila.

Our resource speaker will be Dr. Juan C. Buenrostro, Chief Librarian of the Baliuag University, current professor of UE College of Arts and Sciences and Graduate School and Baliuag University, School of Graduate Studies.

This seminar is designed to understand the collection management paradigm shift to the digital environment; to know the four (4) methods in the deselection process namely: book card method, spine marking method, historical reconstruction method and the computerized method; and to learn the difference between preservation, conservation and restoration of library collection.

We are inviting professional librarians, library technical staff, support staff, LIS students and all librarians in academic, public, special and research libraries.

Registration fee (inclusive of certificate, snacks and hand-outs) for the seminar is only P500.00 for Non-UELSAAI members, P450.00 for UE alumni and P300 for students.
