Greetings from the Philippine Theological Librarians Association!
It has been quite a long time since the PTLA had convened. In the midst of being busy and absorbed in our respective tasks and endeavors, PTLA never ceased to exist. A few PTLA members took the challenge to revive the association and bring back PTLA into the hub of action.
As a starter, we are pleased to invite you to a Regional One-Day Forum/Consultation on “Theological Librarians in the 21st Century: Where Are We Now?” on May 1, 2007. This will be held at Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary (PBTS), Baguio City. The registration fee is PhP300.00 only inclusive of lunch and snacks. For those who would like to stay overnight, a PBTS guest room costs PhP300.00/person/night excluding food. Only a limited number of rooms are available at this time of the year, early reservations are therefore strongly recommended.
The purpose of this consultation is to come up with suggestions and proposals on how to enhance and develop further the PTLA as an organization as it responds to the new challenges of librarianship in the 21st century. We also want to discuss with you the proposal on offering the “Theological Librarianship” degree and its implications, etc. A book sale is also being planned. Your participation and inputs are greatly needed for the betterment of PTLA.
Enclosed is a survey form for you to fill up in order to update our membership database as well as to let us know whether you will be able to join us in the above-mentioned activity.
