Dear Colleague,

The Philippine Group of Law Librarians, Inc. (PGLL) will be holding a Seminar-Workshop on Records Management for Librarians on April 18-20, 2007 at Sitio Lucia Resort, Pulong Buhangin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

The uniqueness of materials with which librarians work, i.e., original documents such as laws, legal opinions, court decisions and other pertinent records necessitates that they should know the basics of records management. Pursuant to PGLL’s advocacy of raising awareness and competencies of our librarians by addressing the continuing professional education of our professional, para-professional staff and other personnel-in-charge of libraries and information centers, we are offering another library-related discipline, i.e., records management. Our objectives are:

a) To introduce among librarians the basic principles practices of records management;
b) To impart basic skills of records handling and maintenance among the participants;
c) To increase awareness on the need for vital records protection program and disaster management in the functions of records keeping in libraries, archives and administrative offices.

The registration fee for live-in participants is P3,900.00 inclusive of meals and accommodation (April 18 A.M. - April 20 P.M.), kit and training materials. Live-out participants, early bird registrants (those paying on or before March 30, 2007) and accompanying persons shall be charged P3,600.00.
