Anyone who thinks library science is a dusty obsolete discipline should take a second and a third look. As speaker after speaker at the Philippine Foundation for Library Scholarship conference eloquently pointed out, librarians are at the forefront of both preserving our heritage and determining how to make invaluable information available to as many people as possible. As technology rapidly changes, updating and re-educating older librarians is essential but this is true for almost every profession today.
