Warm Greetings!

The UP Future Library and Information Professionals of the Philippines (UP FLIPP), an academic organization based at the UP Institute of Library and Information Science, is an established
organization promoting solidarity, academic excellence, and leadership among its members. Founded in 2002, the organization believes that library and information science students have a stake in the promotion and development of our future profession in the country. Our organization, thus, commits itself in spearheading activities that will build cooperation and camaraderie among Filipino Library and Information Science students.

As part of our initiatives for this year, we are going to conduct the LibSpeak ‘07 (Educate~ Empower~ Elevate) Conference and Contest this coming March 14, 2007 at the 3/f Gonzales Hall, Institute of Library and Information Science, UP Main Library.

I line with this, we are inviting you to attend and participate in the said event. It aims to establish contacts with public/private libraries for future outreach programs. This event also includes on the “Trends and Issues in Secondary Scholl Libraries” and the presentation of the proposal of creating a high school library organization, namely the Young Library and Information Science Club. Attached with this letter is the schedule of the said event.
