=====

The Library Association of Singapore (LAS) is excited to host a conference and workshop on the theme Librarians: Learning –> Strengthening –> Moving Forward from the 29th to 31st January 2007 in Singapore.

Our theme encompasses the idea that continuous learning is key to growing ourselves and strengthening our profession. With new insights and increased level of knowledge, we will be able to move forward and achieve a higher level of professionalism to excel in our partnership with our institutions and
communities.

Information professionals are constantly facing a rapidly changing environment. In the age of globalisation, the information industry is constantly evolving. This conference aims to provide a forum to address new challenges, share best solutions and formulate leading-edge strategies.

I wish to extend an invitation to fellow librarians and professionals in the information industry to join LAS on our journey to better understand and
position ourselves to meet the challenges of the emerging trends.

Yours Sincerely
Sylvia Yap
President, Library Association of Singapore
